I was going to go with jbl but they would have been $50 more + buying the adapters the pioneer ones i got were $25 ish off on each set and says it has adapter i guess I just need the speaker harness, glad my 17 only has 6 speakers im not replacing tweeters because thw soeakers i got are 4/3 way

Hi, I just wanted to chime in as I recently upgraded my DS-412+ to 4gb of Ram. I used Corsair "CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9" the unit rebooted without issue and no issues with the CPU being pegged @ 100% utilization. Hopefully this helps someone who wants to upgrade theirs.

Just in case this helps anyone, but the reason I tried to upgrade the memory on my DS412+ was because my system was running like a dog, for years, despite not using much ram and cpu bouncing around under 50%. I tried this memory upgrade which did add more RAM but made no difference to performance. Eventually I found my issue - it was because I was running a backup each night to Google drive.... with the Verify flag set - that step seemed to be running permanently so it must have been trying to do the checks but struggling. Once I disabled Verify, entire system back to 2012 speeds. I can login quick, system is snappy and iOS app logins (DS File etc) are quick again. I returned the memory upgrade and the DS920+ I was going to trial. I’m now waiting for DSM 7 which should be out any day, which promises a rewrite with modern interface so should be even faster.

Thanks so much; this video was very clear and helpful. I upgraded my DS412+ with a Kingston 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 SODIMM 1Rx8 (KVR13S9S8/4). The system is now noticeably faster and no problems noted so far - but I did the upgrade earlier today. Fingers crossed!

The single hard part is to get the case off - use the back of a spoon, with the large end pointing towards the fans, and the flat end wedged under the middle of the metal bracket that the two raised case plastic tabs are stuck under; raise the large end of the spoon, slowly up and down, like a cantilever, and the case will raise up away from the metal bracket ‘and’ slide itself forward and open too.

I had this similar problem, ok so you know the gear shift lock that you have to lift to shift to reverse and neutral and drive. Make sure that when you put it in park that it is seated properly
